Used Golf Balls

About used golf balls

Golf players spend millions of dollars on new balls every year, a huge amount of money if we think of the small white objects. But we all know that golf is one of the most expensive sports and usually the players don’t have any concern related to the financial aspect.
Most of you may wonder “What is the difference between a new golf ball and a used one?” Well, here is the answer: a new golf ball becomes a used golf ball after the first shot. As soon as the player hits it with the club it becomes a used one and in the eyes of many it loses its value. You might say that the physical properties of the ball are affected by the impact with the club, but in most cases nothing happens and the ball is good as new. Definitely there are cases when the club may leave marks or cuts on the ball, but this doesn’t happen all the time. Depending on the terrain and the place where the ball has landed, a used golf ball can get dirty, but a thorough washing process will make it look almost as shiny as an unused one. We don’t claim that all used golf balls are in perfect condition, but some of them are and there is no reason to give up at them just because they have been hit once.
